The “Fillers” series came from the desire to fill a sketchbook that kept looking at me with spite. These doodles come easiest when needing to produce something to make sure the page is not as empty as before.
Throughout the series it is visible that there are smudges on the pages, often color tries from the opposing page. When two pages shown in a single post, these form a compatible spread.
After the doodles and line art of the filler series, it became evident that line art is more than a filler, most of the doodles not labeled as filler are done at a later date and “pulling lines” became something I enjoy as much as watercolors.
It has been commented that the patterns should be made into shopping bags, fabric or coloring books. For these purposes, it can be assumed that unless mentioned otherwise, all Fillers artwork is licensed under the CC BY licence:
